Learn to prepare delicious jams and juices

Are you eager to learn about the diverse varieties of fruit found in Senegal and the surrounding regions, and to learn about how these fruits were traditionally prepared and conserved? If so – this workshop is for you!

Alongside the women of a local GIE (economic interest group), you will discover unique varieties of fruits and vegetables of the Casamance region, including mangoes, oranges, grapefruits, hibiscus, ditakh, tamarind, baobab fruit, ginger, maad, papaya, and many more!

The workshop takes place in the village of Nyaguis, located just a few kilometers from the city of Ziguinchor. In Nyaguis, the local women’s group has been working for 15 years to promote the regions’ produce and products, and to support female entrepreneurs and producers. The workshop, led by members of the women’s group, will offer you the chance to engage in hands-on preparation, processing, and conservation of seasonal fruit in the form of jams, juices, and syrups.
