Learn to make homemade herbal products

Have you ever asked yourself if plants can help us live better, healthier lives?

In Casamance, there are many local plants and herbs that have historically been used to naturally heal a variety of different symptoms and to prevent certain illnesses. If you are curious to deepen your knowledge and understanding of these plants, and to learn how to create your own preventative and curative tonics, infusions, and other products, this workshop is for you!

You will work side by side with the members of a local young farmers’ organization, discovering the garden in which they cultivate plants and vegetables based on the principles of agroecology and sustainable farming. You will develop a deep understanding of the plants and their healing properties in a practical workshop that offers you the chance to create your own natural, homemade herbal products.

The organization’s goals are to contribute to local development by strengthening economic and social activities in the area. This workshop, facilitated by the organizations’ members, offers you the chance to participate first-hand in the various phases of preparation of infusions and herbal teas, and to connect with the Diola culture of the Casamance, well-known for their animist beliefs, traditions, and rituals.

This is a practical and educational experience that you will be able to replicate in your home community, putting into practice what you learned in the Casamance with the plants, herbs, and other resources of your home environment. Prepare to begin making your own infusions and herbal teas!
