Learn techniques and practices of agroecology with local women’s groups

Are you interested in discovering and learning about the sustainable farming practices used in the Casamance, alongside local women? This workshop offers you the chance to intimately experience the traditional techniques that communities of the Western Sahel are using to combat climate change on a local scale and to preserve biodiversity in the region. The eco-village you will visit has been working to promote permaculture and sustainable farming in the region for many years; in this workshop, you will attend a presentation led by the women’s group of the village, who will present their approach, activities, and farming practices. Following the presentation, you’ll follow the women into the fields, where you’ll have a hands-on experience with the land and surrounding environment. Learn how to respectfully engage with nature and the earth!
