Guided excursion and organic agriculture

Do you love plants? Are you eager to explore African traditional medicine and sustainable farming? If so, this is the workshop for you!

In this activity, you will learn about the rich variety of medicinal plants used in Senegal to heal all kinds of maladies, and you will also participate in an introductory lesson on permaculture and regenerative agriculture techniques. You will also be able to understand how to naturally enrich and fertilize the soil through biological processes that maintain a balanced ecosystem.

This workshop takes place in Kafountine, a fishermen’s village immersed in the tropical vegetation of the Casamance region, near the border with The Gambia and Guinea Bissau. Here, an expert guide will lead you through the community, offering the chance to engage with community members and the local population. The workshop includes the community visit and hands-on activities in a local botanical garden. The garden is run by a training center dedicated to combating rural exodus and  empowering youth through training programs in agricultural entrepreneurship. Enjoy this opportunity to spend a few hours in nature, surrounded by beautiful landscapes and a rich variety of tropical plants!
